Just a few minutes drive from Dittisham Hideaway, Anchorstone Café sits right on the River Dart, offering spectacular river views. A firm local favourite, the café is known for its fresh seafood, relaxed vibe, and friendly service.
Their fish and chips are best enjoyed outside in the undercover patio area, watching boats drift along the river—a perfect South Devon experience.
After lunch, we recommend taking a stroll around the picturesque village of Dittisham or catch the Greenway ferry by ringing the bell on the pontoon at the front of the café.

Located on Dartmouth’s bustling waterfront, Rockfish is a favourite with locals and tourists alike and is celebrated for its sustainably sourced seafood, landed daily from local fishing boats.
Their fish and chips feature perfectly flaky fish in crispy batter, and the harbour views make every meal memorable. It’s a must-visit after exploring Dartmouth’s historic streets, shops, and charming quay.

For a ‘proper’ take-away option, Wheelhouse is our Dartmouth favourite, and a hidden gem. There always seems to be a queue out of the door when we pop along to pick up a Friday night take-away, but it’s well worth the wait!
Their fish and chips showcase the best of South Devon’s coastal produce, and every plate reflects the care and quality the restaurant is known for.
