Dartmoor Partner is a curated digital directory of family friendly walks across Dartmoor, designed to give visitors the confidence to explore safely and meaningfully.
Created by local parents Jack and Isla, their aim is to make Dartmoor feel more accessible via a range of carefully selected, personally tested and clearly structured routes with practical details such as parking, terrain, distance, dog friendliness and what to expect along the way.
This partnership offers our guests access to the Dartmoor Partner platform and the opportunity to extend that sense of escape beyond their stay with us here at Dittisham Hideaway and into the wild beauty of Dartmoor.
How it works for our guests?
One month prior to your stay with us, we will email you with some simple instructions on how you register for your own temporary access to the platform. Once you’ve registered you will unlock a COMPLIMENTARY 7-day pass to all of the wonderful routes, to explore at your own leisure.
Whether you are seeking a gentle circular stroll, a scenic hike with far-reaching views, or a day of wild river dips, Dartmoor Partner has a route for you. Each route is on an interactive map and every route includes a detailed description, local insights, and a downloadable PDF so guests can head out fully prepared without relying on internet access. The interactive map allows users to search by distance, difficulty, terrain and location. It is designed to be simple, reassuring and genuinely useful rather than just inspirational.
Alongside the routes, our guests have access to the “How to Walk Well on Dartmoor guide” which shares practical advice about respecting the landscape, understanding livestock, and exploring responsibly.
