The village shop at The Red Lion in Dittisham and The Farm Shop at Garden Time Garden Centre, both 5-minute drives from the Hideaway, offer a lovely selection of produce. Both have dine-in facilities too. A large Sainsburys is located 10 minutes away on the edge of Dartmouth along with many bakeries, cafés, takeaways and restaurants.

A truly classic bistro restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with Elly Wentworth at the helm in the kitchen. Offering outstanding estuary views in a comfortable, casual environment with a classic bistro interior design.

Embankment Bistro also offers spectacular alfresco dining on ‘La Terrace’ partnering with Bollinger Champagne house and an artisan takeaway café with hand roasted Devon based coffee, ice cream and cakes.

The highly aclaimed and popular Anchorstone Café is a beautiful place to enjoy delicious and exceptional local seafood, and is one of South Hams’ few true riverside cafés.

Not only is the Red Lion Inn the village shop (a mini supermarket) and post office, it is also the local pub and restaurant. They serve fresh, locally-sourced food, Dartmoor ales, and wines from around the world.

The Ferry Boat Inn occupies an enviable position on the waters edge, at the quay in Dittisham. The Ferry Boat is a traditional and authentic inn with a family-friendly bar and stunning riverside views. The pizzas are exceptionally good for which they also offer a takeaway service.

Rockfish is known for serving the freshest local seafood, landed right on our doorstep at Brixham fishing port. Rockfish was opened in 2010 by renowned Michelin Star chef Mitch Tonks, who believes seafood is best when it’s fresh, local, and cooked simply and expertly.

The Seahorse is an award-winning seafood restaurant, and is known for the warmth and spirit of its atmosphere – as well as its speciality: fresh, locally-caught seafood cooked over an open fire.

A characterful country pub with log burning fireplaces, plenty of old beams and a large outdoor dining terrace. Plenty of parking; the food is freshly prepared with an appealing varied menu to a very high standard. The Sunday carvery lunch is highly recommended. Due to popularity advance booking is essential.
