Dittisham Hideaway is proud to partner with Devon Environment Foundation (DEF), a local charity that supports grassroots nature restoration projects across Devon.
While our neighbouring coast and countryside looks beautiful on the surface, our local ecosystems are under threat from intensive farming, housing development, sewage and plastic pollution and industrial fishing.
Luckily, nature rebounds quickly given half a chance, and that’s why DEF exists, to support the people and projects doing some of the most important work of our time.
DEF’s mission is to accelerate nature restoration across Devon, and they do this by funding a wide range of projects spanning nature-friendly farming, woodland planting, seagrass protection, species reintroductions, river clean-up, and much more. You can see all their projects HERE.
Grassroots nature restoration offers a hopeful, cost-effective response to some of today’s greatest challenges – boosting biodiversity, mitigating the effects of climate change, enhancing human health and well-being by reconnecting people with the natural world, and providing a much-needed source of optimism in difficult times.
