Shepherd Huts

Our Shepherd Huts at Dittisham Hideaway have been hand crafted to our high specification by West Country Artisans who take the greatest of pride in their craft, and who lovingly build them to detailed perfection.

All 5 Shepherd Huts are positioned in the old meadow of wild flowers with lovely views down the valley.

They offer a generous 234 sq. ft. of space and are 26 ft. long having been designed to comfortably accommodate 2 adults.

The exquisite interior of the huts boasts designer fabrics, made-to-measure furnishings and bespoke fittings alongside a traditional wood-burning stove, relaxation area with side table, compact kitchen, foldaway breakfast bar, a king-size bed and generous bathroom with double walk-in power shower.

Each has its own private terrace with an outdoor wood-fired spa bath, Adirondack loungers* and teak dining table and chairs with parasol plus a fire pit.

All five of our shepherd huts can accommodate 2 adults in the king bed and 2 smaller children (we recommend up to aged 8 due to space) on a pull out sofa bed. We are happy to welcome one older child or a third adult, as long as you’re happy with the open-plan arrangement.

All five shepherd huts are identical in size and layout. The only difference between the five huts is their position in the meadow, and their external colour!

• Willow is dark green and sits at the far bottom of the row, it has the best uninterrupted views down across the valley.
• Maple is our vibrant ‘red’ hut and sits behind Willow
• Cedar takes up the middle position and is black in colour. Cedar is the closest to the car parking area (just!)
• Oak is a gorgeous blue and quietly sits behind Cedar
• Beech is light green and can be found right at the top of the row and sits at a slightly different angle to the other huts offering good privacy

To ensure you can enjoy your stay without being disturbed by any neighbours (who are also enjoying their stay!), the ever-growing hedging and the large willow screens help offer privacy and seclusion.

2 well behaved dogs may join in the holiday with the provision of bowls and some treats. Dogs must be on the lead at all times whilst on the Dittisham Hideaway property please as we are doing our very best to welcome back some local wildlife and don’t want to disturb them. There are many public footpath country walks in the neighbourhood.

Set the mood for the evening, appreciate the night sky, enjoy your favourite foods cooked on the BBQ followed by toasted marshmallows over the fire pit and then sink into the warm waters of the outdoor spa bath… c’est parfait!
