Accessibility
At Dittisham Hideaway we want to create a relaxing holiday experience that is accessible for guests of all abilities and requirements.
Please see further information below regarding access to the site and the properties.
Prior to your arrival
Bookings can be made through our on-line booking system, by phone, or via email.
We advise travelling to us by car, as we are in a secluded location with no direct access via public transport however should you wish to travel by train the nearest station is Totnes.
We would be delighted to give you details of a local taxi firm and we suggest you pre book a taxi from the station. The journey takes around 20 to 30 minutes. We are also able to organise a taxi suitable for wheelchair users.
On arrival at the gates
Please drive up to the iron gates at the main entrance. You will be provided with an access code in your pre arrival welcome email that is sent approx. 5 days prior to your arrival.
Drive down the driveway to find parking on the left hand side for the treehouses, or further down the drive for the airstream and shepherds huts.
Please be aware that we are a self-check-in site and we do not have on site porterage. We provide electric wheelbarrows for you to use to help transport your luggage from your car to your accommodation.
On arrival at the car park
Our gravel car park is situated at the side of the properties. From the car park there is an uneven slope to each of the Treehouses with the exception of Woodpecker, which is accessed on the same level as the car park. There is a short walk to each property. 3 properties entail a 50 metre walk with a small slope. Woodpecker Treehouse can be accessed with just a 10 metre flat walk from the car park with a 6 inch step into the threshold of the property.
The Airstream parking is directly next to the Airstream with just a 5 metre flat walk. There is 1 deep step up to access the inside of the Airstream.
Each Treehouse offers a private gate leading onto your decking, with a gate opening.
For wheelchair users and those with limited mobility
Our Woodpecker treehouse is located on the same level as the car parking area, with its own private space located directly outside the treehouse deck gate. There is one step into the property, with all internal rooms located on the same level. There are two walk-in showers available for use.
Assistance dogs
Dogs are very welcome in all of our properties (except Buzzard treehouse and Cedar Shepherd hut) – assistance dogs are welcome to stay free of charge.

If you have difficulty with your hearing or sight please let us know so that we may alert you to the fire procedures and best advise you for your safety and comfort during your stay.
Each accommodation unit has its own fridge should you wish to store any medication.
